From the 4th September,  2021 workshop members meet every Saturday, in school term time, in the Queens Hall Dunoon at the following times:

All adult beginners: by arrangement

Technique  class:  9.30 - 10.30

Tune development class: 10.45 - 11.45

Tunes up to speed : 12.00 - 1.00

N.B.Given the slow emergence from the pandemic restrictions, the committee hopes to re-establish Monday evening sessions in St Mun's Hall and junior fiddling as soon as it is practical.

Cowal Fiddle Workshop's purpose is to promote fiddle playing in the local community to all age groups so that everyone can enjoy playing traditional music together. Come along and join us!

Each year the workshop holds an annual rally where players are joined by  members from other Scottish fiddle societies as well as various ' friends of the workshop ' who play other instruments.

The workshop also holds a number of  concerts throughout the year and is happy to consider performing for any local fund-raising  events and local care homes.

The workshop is a keen supporter of the local PACCT group (People and Agencies of Cowal Coming Together) providing the music for dancing and listening at the group's monthly ceilidhs.

Annual membership of the workshop runs from August each year. Members pay an annual subscription of £95  which includes the use of the premises owned by Argyll & Bute Council. To join, why not come along to the Queens Hall on a Saturday morning  to meet us and pick up an application form?

Junior Section

Junior players are most welcome to join Cowal Fiddle workshop. Contact for more information or ring the secretary on 01369 830267.

The workshop is managed by an annually elected committee. All members are asked to contribute towards fund-raising activities, without which the workshop would be unable to exist.
